Depending on the requirements of the contracting party, bids are evaluated in order to negotiate energy quantity, price, contract duration, risk transfer and delivery conditions.
Prices are set in 3 different ways:
1) fixed price: agreed price for energy
2) index-based price: depends on market fluctuations
3) hybrid price: combines fixed and variable prices to provide stability for both parties.
- Fixed price contracts.
- Contracts indexed to natural gas or another index.
- Hybrid contracts, part fixed and part indexed.
- Block contracts. In these, the energy is contracted for a fixed volume and the surpluses or shortages with respect to consumption are settled at the spot price of the energy.
- Pay as consumed’ contracts. In these contracts you only pay for what you consume.
